Sameer Kassim

Dr. Sameer Kassim serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the Max Rady College of Medicine, University of Manitoba, with cross appointments in Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. He concurrently holds leadership roles as Medical Site Lead at Access Winnipeg West (Winnipeg Regional Health Authority) and Medical Laboratory Director at Norway House Hospital.

Dr. Kassim's research spans HIV complexity of care, community infectious diseases, and digital health innovation with strong emphasis on equity-focused care for Indigenous, immigrant, and marginalized populations. His work integrates harm reduction principles and strengthens access to prevention, diagnostics, and treatment through point-of-care testing and virtual medicine frameworks.

As an active educator, he supervises students across all academic levels and serves as Master's thesis advisor for global public health and diabetes care programs. He currently leads a study evaluating the DPP® Syphilis Screen & Confirm point-of-care test and contributes to national clinical practice guidelines.

Dr. Kassim's operational scope extends through the Provincial Tick Collaborative Care Service (TiCCS) and Accreditation Canada, where he serves as physician surveyor while directing community-based medical services across Manitoba's diverse healthcare settings.
