Dr. Samaya Javed Anumudu is an Associate Professor of Medicine-Nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Cone Health (Greensboro, NC) as Chief Resident, followed by a nephrology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine with a clinical focus on Public Policy. Board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, she specializes in home dialysis, chronic/end-stage kidney disease, medical education, and quality improvement.
Dr. Anumudu directs home dialysis services at Baylor Medicine and practices across multiple Houston facilities, including CHI Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital, Houston Methodist, Ben Taub Hospital, and Harris Health System clinics. She actively participates in professional organizations like the Renal Physicians Association (RPA Board of Directors, Vice Chair of Education Committee) and the American Society of Nephrology (Public Policy Committee).
Her research focuses on public policy impacting kidney care, patient outcomes in CKD, and dialysis access equity. Notable awards include the 2020 Women of Excellence Award, 2021 Early Career Faculty Award, and Distinguished Educator Award.
