Samantha Renssen

Samantha Renssen is an Associate Professor in Private Law at Maastricht University's Faculty of Law, specializing in Corporate Law and Insolvency Law. She holds a Master's and PhD from Maastricht University, with her doctoral research focusing on Dutch private limited liability company liquidations. Her current research emphasizes corporate restructuring and liquidation processes, with regular publications in legal journals like Tijdschrift voor Vennootschapsrecht and INS Updates. She serves on editorial boards for several legal publications and works as an in-house legal researcher at LexQuire.

Academically, she coordinates Master's courses in Corporate and Insolvency Law, and Dutch Bachelor-level corporate law modules. She also serves as a visiting assistant professor at the China-EU School of Law and contributed to developing a Master's program in Business Law at FHR Institute in Paramaribo. Within Maastricht University, she is Education Planner for Private Law and coordinates the interdisciplinary Master Dutch Law program.

Her professional roles include membership in the Tax Law Educational Programme Committee and active participation in legal education policy. Recent research highlights include critical analyses of Dutch turboliquidatie regulations and their legal implications, as well as comparative studies on corporate legal frameworks.
