Dr. Samantha Reis is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology at the University of Wollongong. She specializes in clinical and health psychology, focusing on mental health conditions such as personality disorders, major depression, and eating disorders, with particular emphasis on attachment theory and psychotherapy outcomes. Her research also addresses workplace bullying and its mental health impacts, alongside interventions for adolescent mental health.
Dr. Reis holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Wollongong and has been actively involved in systematic reviews for organizations like Beyond Blue and NSW Ministry of Health since 2009. She contributes to the Project Air Strategy for Personality Disorders team and has secured grants for studies on asthma campaigns and alcohol harm reduction.
Her teaching interests include attachment dynamics, psychotherapy efficacy, and the interplay of personality disorders with interpersonal challenges. She currently supervises multiple PhD students exploring topics such as the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual’s application in personality disorders and the role of personal agency in treatment outcomes.
Dr. Reis has published extensively on borderline personality disorder, treatment resistance, and narcissism’s emotional impacts. Her work bridges clinical psychology with public health, emphasizing evidence-based interventions and knowledge translation in dementia care and workplace well-being.
