Samantha Pollard

Samantha Pollard is an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Simon Fraser University, appointed in May 2025. She also serves as an Investigator at the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, where her research lab focuses on generating patient and family values-informed evidence for pediatric oncology access and implementation decisions.

Her research program integrates precision medicine, oncology, and health technology assessment to address post-market access decisions for novel oncology treatments and technologies. She specializes in qualitative and mixed-methods research, emphasizing patient and caregiver engagement in clinical trial design and decision support interventions.

Current affiliations include co-investigator roles in the Canadian Network for Learning Healthcare Systems and Cost-Effective ‘Omics Innovations (CLEO) and the Precision Oncology Evidence Development in Cancer Treatment (PREDiCT) program. She is also a member of the Terry Fox Research Institute Marathon of Hope Cancer Centres Network (TFRI MOHCCN) Health Technology Assessment Working Group and convener for the International Health Economics Association (iHEA) Economics of Genomics and Precision Medicine Special Interest Group.

Her work bridges clinical evaluation, economic evaluation, and epidemiology to support public reimbursement and patient access decisions, particularly in pediatric oncology and rare disease settings.
