Samantha Cosgrove is an Assistant Professor of Technical Communication at the University of North Texas, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Professional Communication with a co-major in Human-Computer Interaction from Iowa State University, complemented by an M.A. in English (Rhetoric and Composition) from the University of South Florida and a B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Her research examines risk communication frameworks, user experience design, and pedagogical approaches in technical communication. She teaches courses in user experience, visual communication, and instructional design, including TECM 3100: Visual Technical Communication and TECM 5290: Design and Development of High-Tech Training Manuals.
Dr. Cosgrove's publications analyze crisis communication systems, UX pedagogy alignment with industry needs, and data visualization in emergency contexts. Her work frequently investigates organizational communication during disasters, digital literacy development, and usability optimization for public safety platforms.
