Sam is an Associate Professor in Socio-economic applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at the University of Southampton since 2000. She specializes in automated zone design and spatiotemporal population modeling, collaborating with organizations like the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and Ordnance Survey (OS). Her work includes software tools such as AZTool and SurfaceBuilder247, which support census data collection and workplace zone classification (COWZ).
