Samantha Brown

Dr. Samantha Brown is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology and Wellbeing at the University of Southern Queensland. She holds qualifications including a BA, BA(Hons), MPsych(Clinical), and DPsych from institutions in Queensland. Her research focuses on clinical psychology, mental health, and innovative therapeutic approaches such as animal-assisted therapy in private practice and exercise physiology settings. She has also contributed to studies on child maltreatment and counseling practices in Australia.

In supervision, Dr. Brown has supported doctoral candidates in areas such as self-compassion in early career psychologists and prosocial online behaviors. She completed supervision of a project on outpatient group therapy for substance use disorders in 2023.
