Samantha Boom is a Lecturer in Sustainable Experience Design at the Academy for Hotel & Facility. Her research focuses on sustainability, stakeholder attitudes, Q-methodology, and sustainable tourism. She has led projects such as 'Smart City Hospitality' (using Q-methodology to analyze stakeholder perspectives on sustainable urban tourism) and work with the Icelandic Tourism Research Institute to study negative tourism impacts. Current interests include stakeholder management, cultural tourism, and Q-methodology applications.
Her research outputs include studies on women leadership in hospitality education, student career perceptions, and stakeholder perspectives in urban tourism. She has been cited 40 times and her work has been downloaded over 700 times. Recently, she initiated the Professional Doctorate program in Leisure, Tourism & Hospitality and leads a project exploring gender barriers in the Dutch hospitality industry (funded by Regieorgaan SIA, 2023–2028).
