Sam Suptela

Sam Suptela is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. They teach courses including Principles of Biology, General Biology II, and Epidemics and Plagues. Responsibilities include mentoring undergraduate research students and coordinating Anatomy and Physiology labs.

Education: BS and PhD in Biology from UNC Charlotte, MPH from University of Virginia, and current pursuit of M.Ed in Learning, Design, and Technology.

Research focuses on immunology of brain/bone infections against bacterial/viral pathogens, epidemiology, and equity in STEM education. Active projects bridge biomedical research with public health applications and educational accessibility initiatives.
