معرفی
Dr. Sam Rowe is a Researcher in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University, affiliated with the Astronomy Instrumentation Group and the Cardiff Hub for Astrophysics Research and Technology. He specializes in developing ultra-sensitive detector systems for millimeter/submillimeter astronomy, focusing on superconducting kinetic inductance detectors (KIDs). His work includes the MUSCAT project, a 1,500-pixel receiver for the Large Millimeter Telescope in Mexico, and commercializing terahertz imaging technology through the spinout company Sequestim Ltd.
Education: PhD in Submillimetre Instrumentation (Cardiff University, 2015), MPhys in Astrophysics (Cardiff University, 2010), and prior experience as a Research Assistant at QMC Instruments Ltd.
Research Interests: Astronomical instrumentation, superconducting detectors, millimeter/submillimeter observations, and technology transfer for commercial applications. Recent projects emphasize large-scale detector arrays and cryogenic systems.
Key Publications: Over 20 articles on MUSCAT development, detector characterization, and terahertz imaging, including work in Journal of Low Temperature Physics and Review of Scientific Instruments.
