معرفی
Sam McBrayer is an Assistant Professor at the Children's Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern (CRI). He earned his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Baylor University and a Ph.D. in cancer biology from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, where he studied molecular mechanisms of glucose transport in multiple myeloma under Dr. Steven Rosen. As an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, he investigated metabolic reprogramming in glioma. His current research focuses on identifying metabolic pathways that drive cancer formation.
Research Interests: McBrayer’s work explores the intersection of metabolism and cancer biology, particularly in brain tumors. His lab aims to uncover how genetic mutations regulating metabolism contribute to oncogenesis across tissues, with implications for developing novel therapies.
Scientific Awards:
- National Cancer Institute Award
- Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas Award
Laboratory: The McBrayer Laboratory investigates metabolic mechanisms in cancer progression, emphasizing brain tumors driven by mutations in metabolic regulatory genes.
