Shen-yi Liao (Sam Liao) is Professor and Chair of Philosophy at the University of Puget Sound, with affiliations in Asian Studies, Bioethics, Gender & Queer Studies, and Neuroscience interdisciplinary programs. His current book project examines how cognition intersects with oppression through objects like medical devices, colonial statues, and photographic technologies.
