Sam C. Collingbourne

Sam C. Collingbourne serves as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Mathematics at The University of Edinburgh under the mentorship of Dr Jan Sbierski.

He earned his Ph.D. in April 2022 from the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at the University of Cambridge, supervised by Professor Mihalis Dafermos. His doctoral research examined the Gregory--Laflamme Instability and conservation laws in linearised gravity, archived in the Cambridge repository.

His scholarly work centers on mathematical general relativity, specializing in gravitational instability phenomena and theoretical frameworks of linearised gravity. This research advances rigorous mathematical analysis within Einstein's theory of general relativity through conservation law applications.
