Sam Attwood is a Lecturer in Software Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University, based in room 4.28 of the Dalton Building. He actively contributes to both academic research and industry collaboration within the Department of Software Engineering.
His research centers on behavioural software engineering with a current focus on secure software engineering methodologies using self-published materials. He explores cross-disciplinary applications in responsible AI systems and sustainable/green software engineering practices, while maintaining strong industry partnerships to develop advanced digital skills training programs.
Dr. Attwood has secured significant research funding through multiple high-impact projects:

As an educator, he leads core modules including Secure System Development and Software Testing while supervising MSc projects. His industry background includes software development and technical leadership in the ERDF Greater Manchester Cyber and AI Foundry initiatives, bridging academic research with practical cybersecurity applications.
