Sam Armstrong

Sam Armstrong serves as Artist Faculty for Trombone at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore, bringing extensive professional orchestral experience from positions as Co-Principal Trombone of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and guest performer with the LA Philharmonic.

His formal training includes studies at The Juilliard School under Joseph Alessi and the Curtis Institute of Music with Blair Bollinger, Nitzan Haroz, and Matthew Vaughn.

As an educator, Armstrong conducts masterclasses across Asia at institutions including the Alessi Seminar, Mahidol University, and Tianjin Juilliard School, while championing trombone pedagogy through performance and community engagement.

His professional accolades include:
