Salvador Rangel is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Swarthmore College, affiliated with Latin American and Latino Studies and Sociology & Anthropology Education. His research and teaching focus on class dynamics, socialism and Marxism, migration, citizenship and illegality, race and racism, and globalization.

He teaches courses such as Foundations: Self, Culture, and Society (SOCI 001); Globalization and Global Inequalities (SOCI 025C); Anti-Capitalism, Revolution and Resistance in the 'Third World' (SOCI 035B); Capitalism and Migration (SOCI 035D); Race, Migration, and the Law (SOCI 035E); and Sociology of Capitalism (SOCI 045C). Office hours are held Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 PM by appointment at Science Center 252B.
