Saloni Dev is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on global mental health, social drivers of mental illness, and implementation science. She holds a BA from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (India, 2014), an MA in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Columbia University (2017), and a PhD in Health Sciences from Northeastern University (2021).
Dr. Dev’s work emphasizes culturally responsive mental health interventions, particularly in low-resource settings. Her recent studies include analyses of task-sharing models in India and Latin America, spatial stigma impacts in urban environments, and the role of social capital in mental health outcomes. She teaches courses such as Qualitative Tools, Global Health, and Evaluation of Health Programs at Tufts.
Her research spans implementation barriers in mental health programs, user engagement in psychosocial interventions, and policy frameworks for reducing mental health stigma. She collaborates internationally on projects like the PRIME India study and has contributed to over a dozen peer-reviewed articles in journals like SSM Mental Health, Global Mental Health, and Public Health Reports.
Dr. Dev is fluent in English and Hindi, with expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods. She actively participates in global health initiatives aimed at scaling evidence-based mental health practices in underserved communities.
