Salman Asghar is an Assistant Professor at the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore (UET Lahore), Department of Product and Industrial Design, and a Visiting Fellow at Loughborough University. He is the Deputy Head of School and a multi-award-winning academic. His research focuses on cross-cultural design, product semantics, assistive technology, and visual communication. Dr. Asghar holds a PhD in Design from Loughborough University (2017–2020), an MFA in Graphic Design from the University of the Punjab, and a BSc in Product and Industrial Design from UET Lahore.

He has also contributed to the development of user-centered assistive technology design processes.
Awards include the Faculty Development Program Scholarship (2016). He advises on government initiatives, such as improving Lahore’s air quality through participatory design. His research emphasizes socially inclusive design and interdisciplinary collaboration.
