Professor Sally Singh holds dual roles at the University of Leicester's Department of Respiratory Sciences and Coventry University's School of Physiotherapy, alongside being Head of Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Her work focuses on advancing rehabilitation strategies for chronic lung and cardiovascular diseases through both traditional and digital interventions. She pioneered the NHS's 'Your Covid Recovery' online service and leads national initiatives to expand access to rehabilitation across the UK.
Her research addresses global health challenges, developing culturally appropriate rehabilitation programs in partnership with institutions in Uganda, Malawi, India, Sri Lanka, and Kyrgyzstan. Professor Singh chairs the World Health Organization’s COPD Rehabilitation Development Group and serves as clinical lead for the National Asthma and COPD Audit Programme. She also oversees British Thoracic Society guidance on pulmonary rehabilitation adaptations post-COVID-19.
With NHS-E funding, she is developing a post-COVID-19 digital recovery program. Her collaborative efforts include working with national clinical leaders and international partners to enhance rehabilitation accessibility for underserved populations.
