Sally Haslanger is the Ford Professor of Philosophy and Women’s and Gender Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her research bridges social justice issues with contemporary philosophy, spanning metaphysics, epistemology, feminist theory, and critical race theory. She investigates the materiality of social practices and the role of ideology in structural explanations of social phenomena.
Her scholarly contributions include the award-winning book Resisting Reality: Social Construction and Social Critique and co-edited volumes like Theorizing Feminisms and Adoption Matters. Current work emphasizes structural injustice and ideological frameworks in social systems.
