Salles Marie-Laure

Salles Marie-Laure has served since September 2020 as Director of the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. Concurrently, she continues as Professor at the Centre de Sociologie des Organisations at SciencesPo, Paris. Her career includes founding and leading the School of Management and Innovation at SciencesPo (2016–2020), professorships at ESSEC Business School (2001–2016), and visiting appointments at Uppsala University and Stanford University.

Research Interests

Her scholarship integrates economic sociology and transnational governance, examining how social networks, institutions, and historical contexts shape the diffusion of rules, practices, and ideas across borders. She probes the evolution of capitalist institutions and the shifting responsibilities of firms within global regulatory frameworks, employing both comparative business history and institutional theory to illuminate systemic change.
