معرفی
Laure Saint-Raymond is a Professor at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon and a leading mathematician in partial differential equations, kinetic theory, and fluid mechanics. Formerly at Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris (2007-2017) and Université Pierre et Marie Curie (2002-2007), she has made transformative contributions to asymptotic analysis and Hilbert's sixth problem. Her work bridges microscopic particle systems to macroscopic fluid dynamics, particularly in boundary layers and fast-rotating flows.
- Educational background: ENS Paris (1994-1998), Masters in Applied Mathematics (Paris VI) and Plasma Physics (Versailles), PhD in Applied Mathematics (Paris VII)
- Key roles: Head of Analysis team (2007-2009), Director of Studies (2007-2011), Deputy Director of Mathematics Department (2011-2014)
- 2020 Bôcher Memorial Prize
- 2019 Knight, Legion of Honour
- 2017 European Academy of Sciences
- 2011 Irène Joliot-Curie Prize
- 2009 EMS Prize
Her research spans asymptotic analysis, kinetic equations, and fluid dynamics, focusing on rigorous mathematical descriptions of physical phenomena. She has organized major conferences like the Institut Henri Poincaré interdisciplinary program on singularities in mechanics and the ENS Lyon workshop on mathematics and oceanography.
Selected scientific distinctions:
She has advised PhD students including Delphine Salort and Nathalie Ayi, served on editorial boards, and participated in public outreach through lectures and popular science articles in journals like Pour la Science and Tangente.
