Salla Sariola is a Professor of Sociology at the University of Helsinki, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Department of Sociology. She leads research initiatives at the Helsinki One Health and Helsinki Inequality Initiative. Her work focuses on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), global health ethics, and the sociocultural dimensions of health systems. Key areas include microbial ethics, LGBTQ+ youth healthcare, and the intersection of inequality with healthcare access. She supervises doctoral students in the Doctoral Programmes in Social Sciences and Gender, Culture, and Society.
