Sali Farhan, PhD is a genomicist at The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) at McGill University. Her work bridges clinical and research domains to uncover genetic causes of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Previously, she conducted postdoctoral research at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, following a PhD in biochemistry and genetics from Western University and a CCMG fellowship at CHEO, University of Ottawa.
Farhan focuses on identifying genetic variants linked to neurological disorders, aiming to advance precision medicine in neurology by developing diagnostic tools and discovering novel disease-causing genes. She emphasizes collaboration with The Neuro's academic and clinical teams to align neurology with fields like oncology in leveraging genetic testing for personalized therapies.
