Salam Aboulhassan is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA). She holds a PhD in Sociology from Wayne State University. Her research focuses on intimate partner violence among Arab American women and Muslims' racialized and gendered experiences in U.S. workplaces. Additionally, she is actively involved in community activism addressing sexual assault and violence in immigrant Arab communities.
Dr. Aboulhassan has taught sociology across Metro Detroit college campuses and contributes to both academic and community-oriented initiatives. Her work bridges sociological inquiry with practical advocacy, emphasizing marginalized groups' intersectional challenges.
