Salah Basalamah is an Associate Professor at the School of Translation and Interpretation (STI) and the Institute of Canadian and Aboriginal Studies (ICAS) at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He holds a PhD in Translation Studies from the University of Montreal and has taught at institutions including the UAE University and Glendon College. His research focuses on Translation Studies (including philosophy of translation, translation rights), Postcolonial and Cultural Studies, and Western Islam. He has authored influential works like Le droit de traduire (2009) and contributed to debates on translation ethics, cultural policy, and Islam in the West.
