Sakshi Schmid

Sakshi Schmid is a Researcher at the Supramolecular Nanomaterials and Interfaces Laboratory (SUNMIL), part of the Institute of Materials (IMX) within the School of Engineering (STI) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). She also serves as a Scientific Staff Member on the School Council STI and CF-STI, with her office located at MXG 033, Building MXG, Station 12, 1015 Lausanne.

Her research focuses on drawing inspiration from natural materials to establish design principles for developing complex, hierarchically ordered stimuli-responsive materials. Key areas include Supramolecular Chemistry, Nanomaterials, Stimuli-Responsive Materials, Materials Science, Self-Assembly, and Biomimetic Materials, emphasizing biomimetic approaches to create advanced functional materials.

Dr. Schmid previously held a postdoctoral position at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in the Physical and Computational Science Division.
