Sakif Rahman

Sakif Rahman is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Orfalea College of Business, California Polytechnic State University. His research spans empirical corporate finance, household finance, banking, fintech, and experimental finance. Dr. Rahman earned his Ph.D. in Finance and a Master of Science in Business Administration – Applied Economics from the University of Rochester Simon School of Business, alongside dual undergraduate degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics with Honors.

His current work investigates the impact of regulation on automated mortgage underwriting and retail trader behavior in financial brokerages through experiments. His research has been presented at prestigious conferences including the American Finance Association (AFA), Sydney Banking and Financial Stability Conference (SBFC), and Australia Conference of Economists. Dr. Rahman teaches Security Analysis and Portfolio Management.
