Cécile Sakai is a distinguished Professor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Paris Diderot University. She has held significant academic leadership roles, including Dean of her department (2001-2006), Vice-President of Paris Diderot University (2007-2009), and Director of the French Research Institute on Japan (2016-2019). Her career spans over three decades of teaching and research in Japanese literature and cultural studies.
