Dr. Sajed Chowdhury is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University’s Department of Languages, Literature and Communication (College of Humanities). His research focuses on Renaissance literature, early modern women’s writing, manuscript cultures, and the history of science.
- Current projects: Monographs on Women Writers and Alchemy in Early Modern Britain and The Reception and Circulation of Women’s Writing in Manuscript Miscellanies, 1550–1700 (co-authored).
- Teaching: Courses on Renaissance literature, premodern societies, contemporary fiction, and Gothic literature.
Research trends emphasize interdisciplinary analysis of manuscript transmission, gendered intellectual practices, and intersections between literature and science in early modern Britain. His publications appear in journals like Early Modern Women, The Seventeenth Century, and Women’s Writing.
