Saikat Ghosh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur with expertise in quantum optics, atomic and molecular physics, laser-cooled cold atoms, and nano-photonics.
Dr. Ghosh received his PhD from Cornell University in 2006, following a Master of Science from IIT Mumbai in 2000 (where he earned the President's silver medal as the most outstanding Masters student), and a Bachelor of Science from Presidency College, Kolkata in 1998.
His research bridges theoretical quantum physics with experimental implementations, focusing on quantum information processing, quantum memory systems, photonic band-gap fibers, and atom-photon interactions. His work has significant implications for developing quantum technologies and understanding fundamental quantum phenomena.
