Sahand Ghadimi is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Water, Energy and Environmental Engineering Research Unit within the Faculty of Technology at the University of Oulu, Finland. He works on the FARMWISE Project EU under Professor Ali Torabi Haghighi, investigating agricultural engineering issues including extreme weather impacts on water availability and crop production.
His educational background includes:
- Ph.D. in Water, Energy, and Environmental Engineering, University of Oulu
Dr. Ghadimi's research focuses on hydro-systems engineering and management, examining river flow responses and ecosystem attributes to climate change and human activities across diverse environments including Arctic regions. His work bridges water resources engineering with agricultural sustainability under climate variability.
He actively contributes to major EU-funded initiatives: the FARMWISE Project addressing agricultural water security and the Arctic Interaction (ArcI) project analyzing climate-ecosystem dynamics, supervised by Professors Ali Torabi Haghighi and Bjørn Kløve.
As a member of the Hydro-systems Engineering and Management research group, he collaborates on advancing sustainable water management solutions through interdisciplinary field studies and modeling approaches.
