Dr. Sagar Jain is a Senior Lecturer in Photovoltaics, Optoelectronics, and Smart Materials at Cranfield University, where he leads the Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics Lab. He holds a visiting professorship at Henan University, China. His research focuses on energy device fabrication and characterization, including photovoltaics, solar-thermal systems, and optoelectronics. He has secured prestigious fellowships such as the CSIR (India), MIUR (Italy), Baden-Wurttemberg (Germany), Wallenberg (Sweden), and Marie-Curie (EU) awards. His expertise includes advanced spectroscopic techniques (HR-XPS, UPS, NEXAFS) and industrial-scale perovskite solar cell upscaling. He actively explores non-toxic photovoltaic materials, hydrogen economy applications, and smart material integration for IoT and building-integrated PV systems. Dr. Jain collaborates with industrial partners on floating photovoltaics (FPV) and agrivoltaics (APV) research.
