Sadasivan Shankar serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University and Research Technology Manager at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. He previously held the inaugural Margaret and Will Hearst Visiting Lecturer position at Harvard University and the first Distinguished Scientist in Residence role at Harvard's Institute of Applied Computational Sciences.
His research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence with materials science and chemistry to solve complex problems in physical sciences, developing novel computational frameworks for sustainable materials design. He pioneered the course Translation: From Invention to Innovation, bridging scientific discovery with practical applications in semiconductor manufacturing and environmental sustainability.
