معرفی
Dr. Sadaf Ambreen is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Genomics and Child Health within the Blizard Institute, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. Her research focuses on disease genetics and genomics, particularly in cancer evolution and metabolic disorders such as obesity.
Her educational background includes:
- M.Phil. in Bioinformatics from the National Centre for Bioinformatics at Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, Pakistan
- Ph.D. in Genetics from the Beijing Institute of Genomics (BIG), Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, supervised by Professor Xuemei Lu
Dr. Ambreen's research spans cancer genomics, evolutionary biology, and metabolic disease genetics. She investigates driver mutations in tumors, mutation patterns in breast cancer, and genetic variations linked to obesity using genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and next-generation sequencing (NGS). Her interdisciplinary approach integrates computational analysis with molecular biology to uncover disease mechanisms.
Her publication record demonstrates expertise in comparative genomics across species, evolutionary history of vertebrate genomes, and biotechnological applications. Key themes include cross-species cancer modeling, bacterial engineering for bioproduction, and antipathogenic gene diversity in vertebrates.
Scientific recognition includes:
- Chinese Academy of Sciences and The World Academy of Sciences (CAS-TWAS) Ph.D. scholar (2015-2019)
As an active member of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB), Dr. Ambreen contributes to the Bochukova Lab's research on genetic foundations of metabolic diseases, with ongoing projects focused on obesity mechanisms and child health implications.
