Professor Sacha Golob is a Professor of Philosophy at King’s College London, serving as Co-Director of the Centre for Philosophy and Art (CPA) and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. He holds a BA from Pembroke College, Cambridge, and an MPhil from Merton College, Oxford. His research focuses on modern French and German philosophy, aesthetics, and ethics, with recent work exploring conceptions of ethical degeneration and virtue. Golob previously served as a Junior Research Fellow at Peterhouse, Cambridge.
His teaching spans aesthetics, Kantian philosophy, and 19th/20th century continental philosophy. The CPA, co-directed by Golob, bridges academic and artistic communities through interdisciplinary projects. Recent publications include analyses of Heidegger’s ontology, Kantian ethics, and the philosophy of art. He has authored books like Heidegger on Concepts, Freedom and Normativity and contributes to journals such as ETHICAL THEORY AND MORAL PRACTICE and MONIST.
Research interests include Kantian ethics, existential agency, and the intersection of philosophy with contemporary art. Grants include leadership of an AHRC-funded project on ‘Wakeful Consciousness’ and participation in interdisciplinary initiatives. Golob’s work often addresses historical philosophical debates while engaging with modern ethical and aesthetic questions.
