Sabrina Browning, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology) at Yale School of Medicine. She specializes in hematology, with a focus on multiple myeloma, AL amyloidosis, and rare hematologic disorders. Her clinical and research interests include evaluating new treatments for hematologic malignancies and their impact on patient outcomes and quality of life. She is the sole awardee of the Bernard Forget Scholarship (2020-2021) and leads clinical trials at Yale for multiple myeloma and AL amyloidosis. Dr. Browning is affiliated with the Smilow Multiple Myeloma and Gammopathies Programs, Classical Hematology Clinic, and the Yale Cancer Center. She holds memberships in the American Society of Hematology (ASH), International Myeloma Society (IMS), and International Society of Amyloidosis (ISA).
Education: MD from University of Connecticut School of Medicine (2013), BS in Biology from Quinnipiac University (2009). Residency and internship at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by a fellowship at Boston University’s Amyloidosis Center and subsequent hematology/oncology fellowship at Yale. Her research explores metabolic syndrome’s link to myeloma and preventative strategies, as well as thrombosis/clotting management in myeloma patients. She collaborates with colleagues like Natalia Neparidze and Elan Gorshein on studies evaluating T-cell fitness in immunotherapies.
Dr. Browning emphasizes patient-centered care, using a team-based approach and prioritizing compassionate communication. She actively participates in teaching medical trainees and advancing clinical education through initiatives like the CO-VID virtual learning platform. Her clinical trials focus on novel combination therapies and improving treatment efficacy while minimizing toxicity.
