Sabrina Balgamwalla is an Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic at Wayne State University School of Law. She joined the faculty in 2017 after directing the Immigrant Rights section at the University of North Dakota Law Clinic and serving as a teaching fellow at the University of Baltimore School of Law Immigrant Rights Clinic. Her expertise lies at the intersection of gender, race, and citizenship in immigration policy and enforcement.

Her research critiques systemic inequities in immigration law, particularly regarding human trafficking narratives, spousal visa discrimination, and immigrant labor rights. Recent publications include groundbreaking analyses of trafficking initiatives as state violence and the legal narratives surrounding rescue operations.

She has advised on over 100 immigration cases through her clinic and contributed to policy reforms in North Dakota labor protections. Balgamwalla's international work includes clinical legal education initiatives in the Philippines and a Fulbright grant in Jordan. She currently serves on multiple advisory boards related to immigration law and human rights advocacy.
