Bridgette A. Carr

Bridgette A. Carr is a Clinical Professor of Law and co-director of the Human Trafficking and Immigration Clinic and the AI Law and Policy Clinic at the University of Michigan Law School. She is also a faculty affiliate at the Center for Positive Organizations at the Ross School of Business.

Research Interests: Bridgette Carr specializes in human trafficking law and policy, advocating for victims' rights and systemic legal reforms. Her work bridges criminal justice, civil rights, immigration law, and international law to address coercion and victim reintegration. She also focuses on labor exploitation, public interest legal education, and trauma-informed advocacy techniques.

Advising and Grants: Carr founded the Human Trafficking Clinic at University of Michigan Law School, providing free legal services to victims since 2009. She collaborates with international partners to establish similar clinics in Mexico, Ethiopia, and Brazil, and has trained law enforcement, government officials, and healthcare providers globally.

Labs and Teams: Carr co-directs the Human Trafficking and Immigration Clinic and the AI Law and Policy Clinic. She works with the Donia Human Rights Center and the Center for Positive Organizations, and leads projects tracing agricultural supply chains to identify trafficking risks.
