Sabine Hornung is a Professor of Prehistory and Early History at Saarland University's Faculty of Philosophy, holding the position since 2018. She completed her doctorate (2006) and habilitation (2014) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, focusing on the transition from the late Iron Age to Roman rule in Eastern Gaul.

Research Interests:
Her work spans diachronic settlement archaeology, landscape archaeology, and social archaeology with an Iron Age-Roman period focus. She specializes in conflict archaeology (Gallic Wars), economic archaeology, and natural science methods. Her studies examine migration movements, Roman integration of native populations, and long-term cultural changes shaping European identities.
