Sabina Pačariz is a Lecturer in Politics at King's College London, based in the Department of Political Economy within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Her research focuses on authoritarianism, democratisation, and power consolidation mechanisms in hybrid regimes, particularly in Southeast Europe and Turkey. She holds a PhD from Queen Mary University of London and an MA from Marmara University, Istanbul, with a fellowship at the Centre for South-East Europe in Graz, Austria. Prior to academia, she worked as an interpreter of English/Turkish into Bosnian/Serbian/Macedonian.
Research interests include the political economy of authoritarianism, environmental governance, and media/public policy. Her work analyzes how foreign investments and symbolic narratives shape regime stability. Key publications address Serbia-Turkey relations, Montenegrin religious education, and Bosniak migration patterns. She contributes to the Environment and Public Policy Group and Comparative Politics Research Group at King's.
