Sabina Low is an Associate Professor at Arizona State University (ASU) within The Sanford School. She also serves as Deputy Director of the Sanford Harmony Institute. Her research focuses on social-contextual influences on development, with an emphasis on prevention science, school and family-based interventions, and fostering healthy school climates. Dr. Low holds a Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver.
Her research interests include preventing violence across the lifespan, examining parent, peer, and sibling influences on youth development, and addressing sociocultural factors affecting parenting and child development. She has conducted studies on school-level interventions, bullying prevention, and reducing achievement gaps through collaborative learning.
Recent publications highlight trends in school climate analysis, bullying prevention, and the role of cooperative learning in mitigating disparities. Her work frequently intersects with policy and practice, emphasizing equity and systemic change. Dr. Low has secured grants focusing on intimate partner violence prevention, bullying trajectories, and SEL program evaluations.
She teaches courses such as Risk & Resilience in Children, Adolescence, and Research Methods. Her service activities include roles in the Bully Research Network, Playworks Leadership Council, and grant review panels. Dr. Low’s contributions bridge research, education, and community engagement to promote safe and equitable learning environments.
