S. Keshav is the Robert Sansom Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge and a Professorial Fellow at Fitzwilliam College. His work bridges computer science and sustainability, focusing on reducing the carbon footprint of legacy systems and analyzing remote sensing data to combat deforestation.
Current projects include the development of TESSERA, a high-resolution earth observation foundation model for environmental analysis. Keshav is on sabbatical during AY 25-26 and not supervising student projects at this time.
He is recognized with prestigious fellowships from the Royal Society of Canada, ACM, and IEEE, and was recently honored with the ACM SIGENERGY Lifetime Achievement Award. His research emphasizes interdisciplinary applications of computational methods to pressing environmental challenges.
