Dr. S Palmer is a University Associate Professor at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Law and a Fellow of Girton College. Her research focuses on human rights, constitutional law, feminist theory, and gender and climate change. She is affiliated with the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, Centre for Public Law, and Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Sciences. She lectures on Human Rights Law, Medical Law, and Constitutional Law, supervising doctoral students in public law and human rights topics. She contributes to the European Human Rights Law Review and co-founded the International Journal of Constitutional Law (I*CON). Active in pro bono initiatives, she collaborates with the Cambridge Pro Bono Scheme and Somerstown Legal Advice Corner.
Her research centers on Bills of Rights, UK constitutional developments, and intersections of law with gender and health. She has published extensively on topics like pandemic governance, abortion rights, and ECHR applications. Her work bridges theoretical and practical legal challenges, emphasizing ethical and societal implications of legal frameworks.
