Ms. Rebecca Brown is a Researcher at the University of Cambridge’s Faculty of Law, affiliated with Gonville and Caius College. She holds a PhD in Law (ongoing), an LLM in International Law, and degrees in Legal Practice, Classical Arabic, and Linguistics. Her academic roles include supervising Human Rights Law and International Law courses, serving as Executive Director of the Cambridge Pro Bono Project, and Editor-in-Chief of the Cambridge International Law Journal. Her research focuses on global health governance, international environmental law, and the law of the sea, with a particular emphasis on collective action challenges in global health law and treaty interpretation. She has received notable awards including the ANZSIL/AYBIL Student Paper Prize (2023) and the W. M. Tapp Studentship (2021–2024).
Her research affiliations include the Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Sciences and the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law. Professional contributions include advising on the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and co-authoring works on global health law and maritime disputes. Her scholarly outputs span articles, book chapters, and blog posts analyzing issues such as vaccine equity, environmental treaty norms, and maritime boundary disputes.
