S Krishna Varma

Dr. S Krishna Varma is a Professor in the Department of Metallurgical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering (MMBME) at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). His research focuses on structure-property relationships in metals and alloys, alloy development using phase diagrams, and microstructure evolution. He specializes in high-temperature oxidation resistance, particularly in Nb-based alloys for aerospace applications. His work is supported by NSF, DOE, DLA, ONR, and Texas Higher Education agencies.

Research highlights include novel alloy development for turbine blades and advanced structural analysis during annealing recovery. With over 100 refereed publications and 120 conference presentations, he is internationally recognized as an expert, serving on editorial boards and as a peer reviewer.
