Brian E. Schuster

Brian E. Schuster is an Associate Professor in the Department of Metallurgical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering (MMBME) at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). His research focuses on advanced materials science and engineering, particularly in the areas of materials under extreme conditions, additive manufacturing, and ballistic materials performance. He leads initiatives in high-strain-rate deformation studies, ceramic composites, and novel alloy development for defense and industrial applications.

Recent work includes pioneering studies on 3D-printed materials, femtosecond laser fabrication techniques, and the mechanical behavior of nanocrystalline metals.
