S Chandrasekaran

Dr. S Chandrasekaran (Chandra) is a Senior Lecturer in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts, with 18 years of teaching experience spanning drawing, painting, photography, installation, performance art, and art theory. He holds a DCA, MA in Visual Arts, and BA in Fine Arts (with Distinction) from Curtin University of Technology, Australia.

His research explores:

• The negotiation of cultural identity through performance art and the body
• Asian aesthetics in contemporary Southeast Asian art practices
• Interdisciplinary approaches merging life sciences (DNA technology, biotechnology) with experimental theatre and ethnographic studies
• Innovative pedagogy in arts education and community-based projects

His publications focus on cultural identity, interdisciplinary art-science integration, and Southeast Asian aesthetics, with recent works emphasizing pedagogical innovation and biotechnological applications in art.
