Sébastien Doeraene

Sébastien Doeraene is a Lecturer at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), affiliated with the School of Computer and Communication Sciences and the Information Systems Laboratory. He is best known as the creator of Scala.js and serves as the Executive Director of the Scala Center. His research focuses on cross-platform language design, compiler optimization, and interoperability between statically and dynamically typed languages.

His work bridges theoretical language design with practical implementations, particularly for JavaScript interoperability. Key projects include:
